At PodQuesting, our mission is to inspire and support aspiring podcasters by sharing the journey from novice to expert. We are committed to documenting our learning process, offering honest insights, practical tips, and valuable resources. Our goal is to create a welcoming community where podcast enthusiasts can learn, grow, and succeed together. This is a quest to conquer the podcasting realm, one episode at a time.
Who is the Adventurer?
Hi, I’m Dwight, the voice behind PodQuesting. My passion for podcasting sparked during my college years when I decided to take some fun classes, which led me to broadcasting. Hosting a few radio shows opened my eyes to the magic of audio storytelling, and I eagerly dove into classes on Audio Production, Video Production, and more broadcasting. It wasn’t long before I realized that the future of radio broadcasting is podcasting — if not already the present.
My podcasting journey, however, hasn’t been without challenges. I’ve ventured into multiple podcasting quests, facing obstacles before even encountering any ‘evil foes.’ I started a comedy podcast with my morning radio show co-host, but managing two busy schedules proved difficult, and we only made it a few episodes in. Later, during the pandemic of 2020, I attempted a podcast about success (very original, right?). I even interviewed a stage magician-turned-paranormal fiction author — my very own Gandalf!
But why did that podcast fail? Well, after only a handful of episodes, I found myself stuck in a familiar place: looking at my download number. It wasn’t what I expected, and I self-sabotaged by walking away too soon, overwhelmed by doubt and imposter syndrome.
And that brings us to today. I’ve been putting off my dream of building a successful podcast network for far too long, despite knowing it’s been my goal since taking broadcasting classes. PodQuesting is my latest quest, a journey I’m determined to see through to success, and I invite you to join me on this adventure.
